Turning Point in the Retooling process

RB-Protech GmbH, a young company from the Allgäu region, makes retooling quick and easy. The new, revolutionary and cost-effective “RB quick clamping system” enables quick and easy tool changes on all injection molding and die casting machines.

Producers of injection-molded plastic goods are faced with a wealth of challenges today. The trend towards “just-in-time” production, in which many different components are manufactured in small quantities, requires frequent retooling of injection molds. However, the time-consuming tool changes result in long downtimes and therefore expensive production losses. This is usually exacerbated by the shortage of skilled workers. Hydraulic or magnetic clamping systems promise a supposed remedy, but they involve high investment, complexity and training costs and are not suitable for all manufacturers and types of injection molding machines.

Retooling is child's play
The new, revolutionary and cost-effective “RB-Protech quick clamping system” from RB-Protech enables quick retooling without additional tools or special expertise. As a result, set-up times can be reduced by up to 75%. The patented quick-clamping solution consists of two quick-clamping base plates, which are mounted once via defined screw-on positions within the Euromap drilling pattern on the fixed and movable clamping plate of the machine. The injection mold is fastened and simultaneously locked in a precisely centered position using bolts with toggle lever locking, actuated by hand lever clamps with end position lock.

Manufacturer-independent and universally applicable
The patented solution can be used for new and existing injection molding and die casting machines, regardless of the manufacturer, and can be adapted to sizes up to a current clamping force of 5,000 kN. The universal application options for horizontal/vertical tie-bar and tie-bar-less as well as 1K and multi-component machines ensure rapid amortization and an increase in profits through maximum machine utilization.

Future-oriented with maintenance-free mechanics
The “RB-Protech quick clamping system” is also suitable for high temperatures (200°C) and is therefore future-oriented. Thermal insulation between the SGM plate and the quick-clamping system is included, resulting in cost savings for insulating plates on all tools.

The clamping system plates are attached to the fixed and movable clamping plate of the machine via defined screw-on positions within the Euromap drilling pattern.

The injection mold is fastened/locked precisely centered via bolts using toggle lever locking, actuated via hand lever clamps with end position lock.
